Two Individuals Accused Regarding Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack
Formal charges have been brought against two men related to a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be irritant spray caused injuries at the major London air hub.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two robbery charges and charges for using a harmful chemical, as confirmed by court officials.
This legal action stems from an probe of an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Earlier that day, two female travelers had their luggage taken after getting out of a parking garage elevator, authorities reported.
A young child was caught up in the incident during the incident. A total of five individuals required hospital care and were subsequently released.
This event – described by police as was a standalone event and not considered a terror-related act – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a brief period.
