Expedition 33 Sweeps at the 2025's Golden Joystick Awards
The forty-third yearly Golden Joystick Awards took place recently, and with a remarkable show, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 emerged as the most decorated winner. This standout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive earned the esteemed Game of the Year award, along with prizes for Outstanding Narrative and Best Visual Design.
Enhancing the studio's achievements, its gifted performers also were honored with individual awards. Jennifer English won Best Lead Performer for her performance as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Best Supporting Performer for his role as Verso. Moreover, Sandfall Interactive itself received Studio of the Year. Overall, Clair Obscur and its creative team achieved seven awards during the ceremony.
Additional major winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which received Best Audio Design and Top Console Title, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, honored with Outstanding Independent Game and Best PC Game. Notably, the lion's share of Golden Joystick Awards are chosen by the audience, with only four categories—Critics' Pick, Breakthrough, Hall of Fame, and Streamers' Favorite—decided by reviewers.
