19 of the Russian's 21 titles have been achieved on hard courts

A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his initial championship for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.

Medvedev, a ex- number one, has endured a torrid season, achieving just one win at the big events and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.

His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his service game in specific - caused him falling of the world's top 10 and finally splitting with long-time coach his previous coach.

Presently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily progressed in the past month - culminating in a tightly fought three-set victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.

It is the player's first trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard court since spring of the previous year.

Victory also signifies the Russian has won twenty-one titles at 21 distinct events.

"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my both daughters at once, so to get a championship is particularly special," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I got when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his previous six finals, featuring in the German tournament previously this season.

His retrieving approach and regular outbursts on the playing surface had prompted observers to question if his skill to perform at the top level was concluded.

Yet the 29-year-old has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and compete assertively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.

The champion recovered from a break down in the first set against the challenging opponent, taking 4 of the last five exchanges to take the lead.

Both players exchanged service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden ATP Tour title, gained dominance to force a decider.

Moutet defended four early-game break points in a competitive deciding set before Medvedev broke to 15 to secure the win.

Suitably, he secured the title with a rally at the net, with Moutet failing to control a volley after over two and a half hours.
