Aircraft Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Touch Down in UK Due to Fracture in Windshield
A plane carrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was forced to make an emergency landing in the UK on Wednesday due to a fissure was discovered in the plane's windshield, according to an announcement which stated that all passengers were secure.
"The aircraft touched down based on established safety measures and everyone onboard, such as Pete Hegseth, is secure," a spokesperson commented in a social media post.
He was traveling back from a short visit to the city of Brussels when the incident occurred.
This event does not mark the initial instance that a United States armed forces jet transporting a senior official has experienced mechanical issues.
Earlier this year, a US Air Force plane carrying Marco Rubio to Munich was required to return to Washington DC after encountering a technical issue.
